Mr. Berben was born in upstate New York before his family relocated to Gainesville at a young age. After graduating from high school, Mr. Berben went on to attend the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminology.

While in school, Mr. Berben clerked for a local personal injury firm where he began to learn the area of personal injury law. He would continue to clerk in the litigation department of this firm throughout law school as well. After graduating from the University of Florida, Mr. Berben took a year off at which time he continued working at a personal injury firm and gaining invaluable experience before then relocating to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University College of Law.

While in law school, Mr. Berben earned a Book Award for the highest grade in his class in Florida Civil Practice and graduated with a distinguished pro bono service award in 2022. In his third year of law school, Mr. Berben began working as a certified legal intern at the Leon County State Attorney’s office handling various misdemeanors and began gaining court room and trial experience.

Prior to joining The Corry Law firm, Mr. Berben worked as an Assistant State Attorney in Leon County for 2 years where he handled a wide variety of cases ranging from Driving under the influence to serious felonies including attempted murder, robbery, and sexual battery. He also worked as a domestic violence prosecutor for over a year during his time as an Assistant State Attorney. During his tenure at the State Attorney’s Office, he prosecuted over 20 jury trials.
