Meet The Firm

Mark E. Walker

William CorryMark E. Walker of the Law Offices of Mark E. Walker, P.A., serves as of counsel to our firm. Mr. Walker focuses on litigation, and he has prosecuted and defended a variety of claims.

The overwhelming majority of his work has involved claims arising from criminal defense, nursing homes, medical malpractice, automobile accidents, premises liability, sexual assault, and a variety of other matters involving serious injury or wrongful death. During the course of his practice, he has handled a number of high-profile matters, including claims against the media and private schools.

Mr. Walker has also handled more than 50 appeals. Mr. Walker holds an AV rating with the Martindale- Hubbell publication (only 5 percent of attorneys are awarded this rating), a rating denoting the highest accolade an attorney can receive for his “legal ability” and “adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability, and diligence.”

More recently, Mr. Walker was selected by his peers to be included in the July 2006 edition of Florida Trend Magazine’s Florida Legal Elite. This group is made up of the top 1.7 percent of the state’s lawyers. Mr. Walker previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Emmett Ripley Cox of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Honorable Robert L. Hinkle of the Northern District of Florida, and Chief Justice Stephen H. Grimes of the Supreme Court of Florida. Practicing law since 1993, Mr. Walker served as an assistant public defender, a shareholder of Andrews & Walker, and a partner of Pelham, Andrews & Walker. Mr. Walker’s article, “Workers’ Compensation: Florida Resistance to Non statutory Limits to the Employment-At-Will Doctrine (Scott v. Otis Elevator Co., 572 So. 2d 902 (Fla. 1990),” was published in the Florida Law Review.

Mr. Walker graduated second in his class with High Honors at the University of Florida College of Law and was a senior editor of the Florida Law Review, as well as a member of the Order of the Coif. Mr. Walker received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and was recognized as The Four Year Scholar, graduating with the highest GPA and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

Mr. Walker is active in various professional and community activities and is a member of Christ Presbyterian Church. Mr. Walker is married to Karen Walker, a shareholder with Holland & Knight, and they have two daughters.
