North Florida crash leaves 35-year-old woman dead

A multi-car crash in Clay County has left a woman dead and two men critically injured.

The accident occurred on U.S. 17 in Green Cove Springs, a half-mile north of JP Hall Road.

A vehicle was traveling in the southbound lane early Saturday morning when it was struck by a nearby car. The collision sent the vehicle across the meridian and into oncoming traffic where it struck a pickup truck head-on.

The pickup was jolted into a tractor-trailer traveling alongside it in the northbound lane.

Police responded to the scene and found a 35-year-old woman dead. She was a passenger in the car that struck the pickup truck after crossing the meridian; the driver of the same car was also critically injured, along with the driver of the pickup truck.

It’s unsure what caused the accident, and an investigation remains underway.

Accident victims can take action

It is easy to feel helpless after a serious car accident, but victims have rights under Florida Law.

With the help of an experienced car accident lawyer, victims can file a personal injury lawsuit against those responsible. If the suit is successful, the court may grant them financial compensation for their injuries.

Tallahassee residents should act quickly. The State of Florida imposes a four-year statute of limitations on all personal injury lawsuits. Furthermore, car accident lawsuits often take months, or even years, to resolve. The faster you act, the faster your family obtains the compensation they deserve.

If cost is a concern, many lawyers offer a free initial consultation at no out-of-pocket cost to the client.
