FSU freshman killed while jogging in Tallahassee

When parents send their children off to college they are filled with pride. Their children are off to learn and get ready to be valuable members of society. Unfortunately, a family’s worst nightmare recently came true in Tallahassee when their daughter was killed in a pedestrian accident while jogging.

A 19-year-old Florida State University freshman was recently killed when she was out for a job. The teen who graduated last spring from Lincoln High School was jogging through Pope and West Georgia Streets when she was hit by a car. She died as the result of her injuries. The accident is still under investigation.

Do not hesitate to seek legal help

No family should ever have to go through the experience of losing a loved one due to no fault of their own. Unfortunately, too many families know this reality in the Tallahassee area. If a family believes their loved one was the victim of a negligent driver, they may want to speak with a legal professional who is skilled in personal injury.

An attorney can review the circumstances surrounding the accident and help the family get answers as to what happened. They can visit the accident scene and interview witnesses and review the police report to figure out who is at fault. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, pain and suffering, funeral expenses, lost wages and other damages.

No parent should ever have to bury their child. A young person has their entire life ahead of them and when it is taken away in the blink of an eye it is devastating. A family has the legal right to hold a negligent driver responsible for their mistake.
